Market research companies collect

Data based on internal sources is often the source of the greatest opportunities to create original content that can then be transformed and distributed across different marketing channels (social media, blogs, media outlets, etc.).

We have talked at length about this, which in the Anglo-Saxon world is whatsapp data known as big rock content, in our article how to scale your content strategy .

An example of an internal source of content is this Semrush survey on content marketing.

As you can see, Semrush uses the results obtained to publish a mega article full of statistics. And they complete it with graphs, images and infographics, which are fantastic for sharing.

And have you noticed the number of backlinks and referring domains they have gotten with this post?

What are external data sources?

External sources, as the name suggests, are references that come from outside the business itself. And we can separate them into 3 categories: market research companies, industry leaders and public data.

Market research companies

Market research companies such as Kantar, Gartner, YouGov or thailand lists Statista do exactly that: market research.

Rather than focusing on a specific industry, these types of companies often cover a wide range of topics and sectors. Statista databases, for example, offer “insights and data on 170 industries and more than 150 countries.”

Their own data using quantitative and qualitative methods market guaranteed pix: a modality that promises to replace the credit card research such as surveys, interviews and focus groups.

Once collected, they organize, analyze and interpret the data, and sometimes even offer their own expert assessments and recommendations.

Industry leaders

Industry leaders are companies that have a high reputation in their field and have the resources, influence and reach to conduct reliable surveys.

Just like market research firms, industry leaders also analyse, interpret and publish the results of their research. However, they only do so in the subject areas that fall within their expertise.

An example of this could be the content marketing survey conducted by Semrush that we mentioned earlier.
